Facing the Dragon

Terri Wingham - photo-19I awoke with a feeling of disquiet

I knew that although this was just another day

The time had come to trust the mirror

And gaze without anger or self reproach deep within

For my soul was in need of restoration.

The Spirit seized the moment and whispered

Gently and I gladly listened in silence

As waves of sorrow washed over me

And I counted missed opportunities

Where love would have made a difference.

The Counselor embraced me and set my sight

On a path different than the one I tread

The path appeared challenging and endless

But the Counselor and restorer of my soul

Pointed and led the way.
